Cestrian (Chester) Group - Ramblers Association
Cestrian (Chester) Group membership covers the areas of Chester, Ellesmere Port and West Cheshire. The Group's walks, ranging in difficulty from Easy to Technical, extend over Cheshire, Wirral, North Wales and Snowdonia, Lancashire, the Peak District, Staffordshire and Shropshire. Due to the rural nature of most of our walks, dogs are not allowed.
In addition to the Sunday walks listed on this site, averaging 10 miles in length, Cestrian (Chester) Ramblers Group organises shorter midweek walks on the second and last Thursday of each month, evening walks in Summer and evening meals and other social events for members. Occasional themed walks are also organised.
The Group has a thriving Footpaths Section which walks local public rights of way fortnightly in support of the local Borough Authorities. Routine path maintenance is carried out, and any serious problems encountered are reported to the relevant Authority.

Southern Trekking & Mountaineering Club
STMC is a London-based mountaineering club, drawing its membership from
London and the home counties. The Club was founded more than 25 years
ago by a group of keen hillwalkers and climbers who saw a need for a
London-area club that was perhaps a little less technical than the
established mountaineering and climbing clubs. Ever since, it has drawn
its members from a wide area around London, and has tended to attract
people who are keen on hillwalking and trekking rather than pure
technical rock climbers. New members have ranged from people who are
already experienced hillwalkers to comparative novices.

Manchester CHA Rambling and Social
Club
We are a group of people who love walking and who appreciate our
beautiful countryside. Our regular rambles take us to places in
Derbyshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, the Peak District and occasionally
Yorkshire. Our walks vary from gentle strolls along leafy Cheshire
lanes to more strenuous hikes over high Pennine moorlands. Mid-week
breaks take us to more distant areas such as the South Coast, South
Wales and the West Country. A few times a year we meet in the evening
to hear about subjects of interest to walkers and friends of the
countryside. We sometimes have visits to sites of interest in the
Manchester area. Look at our programme to get an idea of what we have
to offer and if you like what you see contact us to find out what to
expect, what to wear, and where to meet. Come and join us - you are
sure of a warm welcome.
