A circular route of about 3.5 miles with gentle hills starting from the famous Potkiln pub. Frilsham is near Yattendon in west Berkshire SU 551731

1. Walk from the back of the car park at the side of the Potkiln pub. Follow the track with the micro brewery on your left. Climb the slope passing several houses including Laurel Bank Cottages. Avoid public footpath on the left and continue to two cottages at right angles to the pathway. Bear left just beyond them and follow path between the holly trees. Disregard the turning on the left and keep right at next fork. Head for the road and turn left. Walk through Frilsham village, passing entrance to Beechfield, and turn left at sign for Hermitage and Bucklebury.
2. When lane bends right, go straight ahead, following the path into deep woods. Pass through gate and continue on bridleway to next waymark. Branch off left at this point following narrower path to road. Cross over to the gateway (no gate when we walked) and continue on this track past piles of loges for about .75 miles. Keep on ahead all the way, do not turn off left or right but continue on main track through ornamental woodland to junction.
3. Bear left on path into woods to eventually arrive at gate across path. Walk ahead through field and follow path half left in next field. Enter narrow bridleway into trees Follow path with plantation on left, 4 swinging left to follow edge of plantation. Keep walking ahead hear until reaching the footpath and bridleway signs, turn right. follow the track to the road, turn left down road to return to the Potkiln.
